NOTESONTHEWAY In 2014, I started my own business as a freelancer: writing poems on commission for a global client base. These poems have been published, set for choirs, hung in galleries, and used in short films. In 2026, I began formally offering my editorial services through my business as well.EDITORIAL SERVICES I've had the pleasure of working with authors and writers from a broad array of disciplines, including novelists, artist-scholars, poets, and essayists. I offer a spectrum of editorial services, including line editing, copyediting, proofreading, and developmental editing. I am currently the poetry editor for Held Magazine at the University of Guelph.TEACHING For the last couple years, I've been focusing on university-level teaching. I have been a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Guelph, supporting creative writing majors through workshop facilitation, editorial feedback, office hours, and guest lectures.I recently took a course on pedagogy and instruction design (University Teaching: Theory and Practice). Prior to teaching at a university level, I was a group facilitator at the Center in Hollywood, where I taught poetry, creative writing, and music classes to adults experiencing homelessness.COURSES TAUGHT

"Working with Torri was an absolute gift. She’s the kind of editor who listens deeply to the work and to the writer. Torri makes revisions feel like collaboration rather than correction. Her feedback was precise, generous, and in service of the heart of the piece." - Maria Giesbrecht, Poet & founder of Gather“Torri engaged my words with so much empathy. In doing so, she offered me incredibly generative guidance, helping to clarify my thoughts and let my writing voice shine through. Encountering Torri as an editor—after being a fan of her prose, poetry, and thinking for so many years—feels like discovering another facet of her abundant creativity and her unique ability to navigate the vulnerable act of writing with unceasing curiosity and care. I hope to work with her again and again!” - Courtney Ariel Bowden, Artist-scholar, songwriter, & essayist“As an educator and writer I say confidently that Torri Blue is the best editor I’ve worked with. She has helped me with graduate level academic papers and national graduate scholarships, as well as creative writing spanning genres of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Torri’s astute attention to detail, her sharp and efficient editorial skills, and her deep empathy and engagement—with the both the writing and the writer—make her a one of kind editor. Any writer would be lucky to work with Torri. My work has been immeasurably pushed, elevated and strengthened by Torri’s editing and involvement.” - Tessa Fleming, Writer, poet, & scholar
